Cube Net!

On Monday 29th of July we started to make these cubes. They were made out paper and on them we had write or quick writes. Most of the time we were making them we had to draw the frame on a pieces of paper. In the photo you can see that there is a name on the cube and one of the other sides the is also face that we drew. This cube took me three day to make and the hardest part of making the cube was to get the sides to stick together. My favorite part about the cube was when Koka Ngaire hung them up around the class. When all of them were held up around the class they looked really cool.

EL4 Maths Stand!

On Tuesday 23rd July my EL4 stand group were learning about triangles. We found out about 4 new triangles that I didn't know. My favourite triangle out all the triangles was the equilateral. The equilateral triangle is equal on all sides of the triangle. All of angles inside of the equilateral triangle are 60 degrees if you add all of them together they add up to 180 degrees.

The other triangles are isosceles triangle. Two of the sides are the same length and the bottom one is smaller than the top two sides. This is what it looks like.triangle My teacher's favorite is scalene triangle. All of the sides of the triangle are different to each other. So when you write it down it looks uneven.

Retro Tech Term 2!

This is the best term so far because of all of the new field trips that we have done. One of the trips was when we went to the Electric Village. It had lots cool thing like this Electric bike that only was aloud on farm land.
There were robotics that the students from Boys High School built. My favourite part of the E Village was the E scooter that they had. That lots of people went on. The E Village trip was at the same time as the Tairawhiti museum.
So we two groups and one group was at E Village and the other was at the Tairawhiti Museum and at the museum. There was little bit of old Retro tech there. We learned how to write a quill and ink.

Technology Museum!!

On Thursday June 7th we went the East coast Technology Museum. For the past few weeks we were learning about Retro tech and we had items that we had to find out about. My groups item was a hair dryer and we had to make an advertisement to show our class and we worked on it for while.

When we went the museum, we showed our mums and dads and see if we were right and if our item was a hair dryer.

Our item was a hair dryer because when we first got our item we did not know what it was. When we opened our item it gave it away because there was like a head spot on the item. Also everybody yelled out saying that it was a hair dryer.

When we were at the museum we had a tour around the area. My favorite part of the museum was when we went to the fire truck area. We had find our item in a this area and there was lots hair dryers in the back of the building. There was an army room and there were some big tanks the room.

Winter Solstice!

This week our Quick Writes were based on the Winter Solstice. One of the Quick Writes was on Google My Maps and we had to find out about the places Stonehenge, Newgrange, Maeshowe. On Google My Maps we had find where the places were and some information about the place. The Winter Solstice in Scotland at the Monument Newgrange.

Newgrange is famous for when the Winter Solstice happens it lines up the door way. The Stonehenge is famous for it's amazing sun set. The sun lines up with the two pillars. Maeshowe is famous for it's awesome sun rise. It rise right over the passage grave.

Math STRAND!

On June 4 Tuesday my maths group did running and we had figure out how many meters per second and see how many kilometers per hour. I had really good times on both. Here is a screencastify to so my working.

First on the kilometer run that we did I got 4 minutes and then we had to figure out what number went with 4. That added up to 1000 because 1000 meters is the same as 1 kilometer.

Then the number that I found, I made it into decimal and then the first two numbers that I got was my answer.
