Term 4 Blog Post!

In term 4 we had Athletics and I was happy to be able to win some of the sports. The sports that they had were the 200m and 100m sprint and ball throw and long jump and high jump. I got a placing in the 100m 200m and long jump and ball throw. My favourite event is the long jump because I love to sprint and jump and see who gets the longest jump. It is really hard to get first because Ziggy always gets first in everything except ball throw that's because Taj has the biggest throw in the school. I came third in the ball throw. Our last event was ball throw so I was pretty tired from everything else that I did. I did good in ball throw. Ziggy beat me by 9cm.

In the middle of term 4 we had our Kapa haka performance. We had been practising for a long time. We started to practise at the beginning of term 3 and so that is like a term and a half of practise. In the performance I tried my hardest to do everything right. I was in the 4th row in the practises but then I moved up and then I was in the 3rd row. I was happy that I had moved up because now I could go down on my knees. Term 4 was so fun because of all of the things I got to do.

Marae Noho 2019!!!

On the 12th of September we went to our school Marae. The name of our school Marae is called Te Poho o Rawiri. We stayed at at the Marae for twos days. The first day we got welcomed onto the Marae from the Tangata Whenua and then we ate our shared kai. Then we did our activities. My group was group 1 which is the best group.

The first rotation for group 1 was the Kaiti hill walk. This is my favourite activity to do out of all of the activities. The walk took up two rotations. At the top of the hill there was a playground that we got to play which was fun. After that we went to have our next rotation. It was handball and I was so happy that we got to do handball because I didn't have to do anything.

After handball was afternoon tea and we got a two biscuits and two orange slices. We ate for about half an hour and then we had some free time to just do anything. I did skipping for half an hour and then the bell ringed so I had to get in my group for the next rotation. Group 1's next rotation was weaving and me and my friend Charlie started to make a mat but then the time ran out so we had to get our classes and wait in line to make our bed.

After we made our beds we had dinner. The dinner was nacho's and was super yummy. The desert was lemonade ice blocks. That was super yummy to. After we had to get ready to do our performance. The performance was really good. Than we had get ready to go to bed and than we fell asleep. The next day we had some free time to play and then we had breakfast. For breakfast there was beans on toast and other yum stuff.

Than we had to welcome the wai sentacet onto the Marae. After we got to have our morning tea and then we our next activity to do which was the museum activity and there were different maori games that we did and that was fun. Then our next activity was the rako and we learnt how to use the rako and that was awesome. Than we had lunch and it was super yum and after we got to play for half an hour than it was time to pack up the marae and leave. So we had to leave go home.

Gillies Cup 2019!!!!

On Tuesday the 10th of September 2019 we had a match against Mangapapa for the Gillies Cup. We headed down to Mangapapa school to challenge for the Cup. The way it goes is if we win than we get and if we tie than they keep it and if we lose than they keep it.  When got there we warmed up and than we started. It went well in the first half and my friend Seve scored the first goal against the defending champs. Than my friend Ziggy scored the last goal for the first half.

When the second half started our team were pumped because the goals in the first half. Than we had a role going and Kya scored our third goal. I was so happy that when I got the ball I dribbled up the field and SCORED. I was so happy that up 4-0. Then the Mangapapa team getting annoyed because of our goals and then we got the ball. We had the ball an Sam was dribbling up and crossed and the Kya got the ball and scored. That was definitely a win now for Wainui Beach School. Then the full time wisel rung and Wainui got the Gillies cup and every body was so happy.

Google Summit!!!!!!!

For the past few weeks we have been making a story about our family history. There were eight people chosen to go to Auckland. To show other people how to use the website that we use to tell our family history. One of the people that gets to go to Auckland is me, so I have one of my places on this blog post. This is where my dad was born. He was born in Carmel, California.

This is where my family use to live. This was the beach that me my friends and family use to play. My favorite part was when we got to have BBQ's and cook marshmallows on the fire. This is when I lived in Hawaii on the island of kauai. The water was warm and the waves were super good. After it was dark it was so fun to hop in the water and play around.

Cube Net!

On Monday 29th of July we started to make these cubes. They were made out paper and on them we had write or quick writes. Most of the time we were making them we had to draw the frame on a pieces of paper. In the photo you can see that there is a name on the cube and one of the other sides the is also face that we drew. This cube took me three day to make and the hardest part of making the cube was to get the sides to stick together. My favorite part about the cube was when Koka Ngaire hung them up around the class. When all of them were held up around the class they looked really cool.
